Positive: Close to Shimbamba station (2 minute walk) which connects to Shinagawa and then bullet trains and local trains. It is a very quiet area and nothing is really open during the week for evening meals. There are 2 convenience stores around the corner and a police station about 200m away. We felt extremely safe even at midnight walking to and from the train station or convenience store alone. It was clean and well presented with a full kitchen. We stayed as a family of 6 (42,42,23,13,10,2) and though it was small (to be expected) there were two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom. The bed in the master was hard but comfortable and it was off the floor. The kids stayed in the other room on the floor in a traditional Japanese type set up and they all said they were really comfortable. There is a rooftop which is quite cute & there is a clothes line up there. The washing machine is on the 3rd level (just before heading out the door to the rooftop). We really enjoyed our stay and the owners were lovely. They had to do a fire inspection with council while we were out one day. We came home to lovely fresh oranges on the bench from the owner. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip!
Negative: A dryer would be an amazing addition to the apartment as we ended up having to hang clothes all around the apartment from hangers. With 6 people washing piles up fast and needs to be done daily. The only actual “issue” with this apartment is the stairs. It can’t be helped but they are steep and narrow - with luggage and an infant they were difficult to navigate. If you have mobility issues or aren’t strong enough to carry your luggage up the stairs by yourself this definitely isn’t the place for you. Otherwise highly recommend staying here! Also, I don’t know if it’s because it is a new listing but uber drivers and a private transfer driver for our day trip couldn’t find us using the address on booking.com. I ended up having to drop a pin on google maps and/or give drivers the address of the little restaurant downstairs.
